The George Wittenborn Award for best art book of the year goes to 17th-Century Chinese Paintings from the Tsao Family Collection, edited by Stephen Little (Los Angeles County Museum of Art and Prestel, 2016). Our forum member, Jonathan Chaves authored one chapter of this volume, ” ‘Letters and Wine, Morning, Noon and Night:’ Literary Gatherings in 17th and 18th-Century China;” he also translated most of the poetic inscriptions from the paintings and colophons, including first-time translations of important poems by Wu Weiye and other masters.
